Alumni Profile

Ben Vaughan '2000

"I always felt at home at Sage. I particularly liked the close relationships I had with my teachers and my friends; it is unlike any place I have ever been."

Ben Vaughan came to Sage as a 6 year old and graduated from the eighth grade in 2000. While at Sage, Ben participated in student government, serving as student government president in his final year. After graduating from Sage, Ben attended Moses Brown School in Providence, RI where he immersed himself in the theatre program, performing in everything from the lead in Damn Yankees to small improv scenes. A strong student, Ben was a part of the national merit scholarship program and took many advanced classes.

He graduated from Moses Brown and went on to attend George Washington University (GW) where he is currently a junior, majoring in International Affairs with a concentration in the Middle East and Latin America. Ben is also a double minor in Religion and Spanish Language and Literature. While at GW, Ben has also thoroughly enjoyed out of class experiences including - his fraternity, serving as a peer advisor to the Eliot School of International Affairs, working as a development fellow for the Partnership for Public Service, and studying abroad in Spain.

During the summers, Ben is a Resident Assistant for Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) Summer Programs. Not only does he enjoy working with gifted students, but feels he can give back some of what he got at Sage by mentoring his students. Ben hopes to hike the Appalachian Trail sometime soon and looks forward to working at CTY in Rhode Island this summer.

Ben, like many graduates, returns to campus often.
