At Summer Sage, learning is fun! Our summer day program is dedicated to providing academic enrichment and traditional day camp activities for inquisitive and motivated youth ages 4-10.  Each week of Summer Sage has an  exciting enrichment theme that will build skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and curiosity.

Staff
Our staff consists of teachers from The Sage School who are certified educators and experienced leaders. They are selected for their passion for teaching children and their commitment to life-long learning. Staff members are dedicated to making the Summer Sage experience fun and engaging. For the safety of all, CPR and first-aid certified individuals will be on staff.

Dates & Time
Summer Sage will run weekly from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from July 8 until August 2, 2013. Pick and choose the weeks you want to attend. It is not mandatory to sign up for all four weeks, however, there is a 10% discount for registering for the entire program.

Week 1 (July 8 – July 12): Fins, Feathers and Fur
An Exploration of ZoologyHave you ever wondered what a zoologist does? Do you know the difference between a reptile and an amphibian? What is a marsupial? Lovers of animals big and small are invited to come spend the week learning how animals are classified, exploring their habitats, and discovering how they have adapted to the environment in which they live.

Week 2 (July 15 – July 19): Sage Space Odyssey 2013
Discovering Outer Space
Calling all astronauts! Your mission is to explore the depths of our universe and beyond. From the science of flight to the mysteries of the Milky Way, we will spend the week learning about the wonders of space. Join us as we explore the more than 300 billion stars and planets that make up our solar system.

Week 3 (July 22 – July 26) Dig It!
Unearthing Mysteries of the Past
Do you know the difference between a Paleontologist and an Archaeologist? Are you intrigued by what might lie under the dirt in your own backyard? Our expedition will travel back in time to explore the Earth before modern civilization. Focusing on fossils, relics, ruins and treasures, we’ll discover what life on earth was like many years ago.

Week 4 (July 29 – August 2): Passport to the World
An Exploration of Culture
Grab your suitcase and get ready to set sail as we travel the world! Each day we will visit a new and exotic location. We’ll immerse ourselves in the local culture by learning about the history, traditions, geography and cuisine of our destination. By the end of the week, you’ll have a passport filled with stamps from around the world!

PreK-K Program -  Half day & full day options
School Age Program - Full day only

Cost
Full day (9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.): $375 per week
Half day (9:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.): $225 per week (available for PreK–K only)

Extended Day Option
For an additional fee, we offer an extended day program that runs from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. and again from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Participants enjoy organized games, outdoor play, and free play led by counselors. Pick up may occur at any time during this extended period.

Participants are responsible for bringing morning snack, drink, and their own lunch each day. An afternoon snack will be provided for all participants.

A half-day option is available from 9:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. for PreK-K students.

Enrichment Session
Participants will spend their mornings immersed in topics that enhance the weekly theme. Lessons and projects will be taught with an integrated approach, incorporating math, literacy, history, science, art, music, technology, and more. Participants will utilize the school’s many resources including our Science Lab, Media Room and computers to enhance their learning experience.

Enrichment Activities
What is a summer program without sports and games, dance, and arts and crafts? The afternoon will provide an opportunity for children to apply what they learned in the morning session through non-competitive physical activity, outdoor exploration, and creative activities lead by our experienced staff.
