Curriculum & Academics

The Sage School offers a rigorous pre-K-8th grade learning environment and a classical curriculum. Our academic program encompasses three Divisions: Prime (pre-K through 2nd grade ages); Junior (3rd through 5th grade ages); and the Middle School (6th through 8th grade ages).

Though our curriculum is classical, content delivery at Sage differs significantly from most traditional programs, with approaches specially geared toward gifted children: interactive, inquiry-based, in-depth learning; flexible pacing; small overall class sizes; ability-based instructional subgroups in core-subject classrooms; motivated students; and high expectations for student performance based on individual abilities.

Because gifted students learn more quickly, Sage faculty members have the flexibility to cover material at a rapid pace or devote extra time for digging deeper into topics related to major curriculum themes based on the dynamics and interests in each instructional group. Our goal is to engage and motivate students through in-depth studies that go well beyond traditional age-defined curriculum.
