The Sage School Announces New Assistant Head of School Effective July 1

It is our distinct pleasure to announce the appointment of Sarah Kotwicki as the Assistant Head of School effective July 1, 2010. After a national search, Sarah was chosen for her depth of experience, outstanding communication skills, leadership ability, understanding of independent school life, and, most importantly, her obvious knowledge of and love for elementary and middle school students. We are fortunate to have found such a talented and experienced school leader who is also such a great fit for the Sage community.
Sarah is currently Head of the Middle School at Williston-Northampton School in Easthampton, MA where she has been for five years. She also spent eight years at Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill, MA, where she served as Director of Counseling, leader of the Advising and Wellness programs, Director of Teaching Fellows, and English teacher. Additionally, she was Lead Teacher in a mixed first and second grade classroom for four years at New Canaan Country School in CT. Sarah has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Skidmore College and a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health and School Guidance from Lesley University.
Sarah will be replacing Amy Wheeler, Associate Head of School & Director of Secondary Placement. After 12 years at The Sage School, Amy will be leaving to become the new Upper School Director at Beaver Country Day School.
