History:
The Sage School was founded in 1990 to provide an optimal learning environment for gifted children. Since that first year when there were 11 children enrolled, the school has grown to a student body of 173 with 44 faculty members and administrators to support them. While there has been much growth and many changes to the school over the past 17 years, the focus on educating gifted students has remained central to our work.
Mission Statement:
The Sage School is a private, independent school dedicated to providing an educational program that serves the needs of academically gifted girls and boys ages four to fourteen in the greater Boston and Providence areas.Student/ Teacher Ratio:
Our ratio of students to teachers reflects our goal of creating optimal learning groups. With 173 students and 31 teaching faculty, we have a pure ratio of 5:1. With two teachers in each Prime and Junior classroom, students are grouped in homerooms ranging from 10-18 students and are broken into smaller groups for instruction. Middle School classes have one teacher and a maximum of 12 students.Enrollment:

Accreditation & Memberships:

The Sage School is accredited by the Association of Independent Schools in New England.
AISNE's accreditation process is intended to ensure a process of reflection, affirmation, transformation, and accountability. As a result of participating in the accreditation process the following goals as stated by AISNE are met:

In addition to being accredited by AISNE, The Sage School is a member of the National Associate of Independent Schools (NAIS), the National Association of Gifted Children, and the Massachusetts Associate of Gifted Education (MAGE). Our faculty and administrators belong to numerous professional organizations.
